Stories and patakíes
You must not abandon the santo
In the land of elupa there was always war among themselves and they did not know where that war was coming from.
What happened is that there lived there a family called oyoyoran who liked everything to be fast, because they knew why the santo took so long, that is why they had spread in the town the belief in mayombe, the people there became enthusiastic and began to abandon the santo and dedicated themselves to mayombe until the time came when they began to suffer hardships due to the delay that came to that land from the throat, belly, and blood illness.
Oyoyorun was the one who set out to see what was happening and Elegguá told him that it was due to abandonment of the santo and that they had to do Ebbo so that they could be saved.
Oyoyorun did Ebbo and left from there for another place.
The pact with Iku
On the outskirts of the town of abile, there lived a thin, hairy man with side whiskers, who was called oshe koshe feruru and lived apart from the others.
One day Shango, elegbara and Oggun were out hunting and night caught them in the forest and then they went to the house of oshe koshe feruru and asked him for shelter and food and he provided them everything quickly.
It turned out that Iku was looking for someone to take and she arrived at this house and began to look through a crack and saw a hairy man with side whiskers and without knowing that it was oshe coshe feruru she said to herself, I am going to take him, but he is very thin, I am going to wait until he is stronger and gains weight.
Iku kept watching until she said to herself: in three days I can take him.
But oshe koshe feruru knew what was going to happen so he spread baba okra around the door of the Ile along with a chain.
Iku began to open the door of the Ile but since she also had not seen the other visitors, she started to slip and elegbara immediately tripped her and Oggun, upon seeing who it was, chained her up and Shango, to force her to say what she had come for, began to set her on fire.
Iku, seeing herself in that situation, asked to be forgiven and explained that she was in that Ile to take the bearded man with sideburns.
Shango told her, don't you see that that is Orunmila and you cannot take him, and in payment for your bad ideas I am going to burn you.
Death answered that she did not know that Orunmila lived there.
Then Eshu put her inside a sack so that Shango could burn her, but Oggun begged Eshu not to do anything to her because death did not know Orunmila.
And then they agreed to make a pact where death committed herself not to take anyone who had Orunmila's mark, which is the idefa, unless Orunmila was the one who handed it over to him or ordered it.
