Stories and patakíes
The persuasion
There was once a powerful man feared by everyone for his great power.
Everyone feared him.
And he said that anyone who stepped on his land would pay for it with his life.
On his land he had great plantations of timber trees where he hung the skulls of his enemies and of those unfortunate people who mistakenly entered his land, and there was no one who dared to approach him.
One day all the inhabitants of isalaya went to see Olofin seeking a solution to this, and he sent them for consultation where they were told to do Ebbo with musical instruments and take them to the land of isalaya.
But there was no one who wanted to do it.
Then said the daughter of ojuani meyi: I will go and I will dominate him.
The maiden arrived and entered that land playing music, and when the powerful lord saw her, he came out and said to her: stop beautiful obini, for you are very beautiful and I do not want to harm you.
To which she replied, I come for you and I will take you away.
He was amazed by the bravery, beauty, and musicality of the daughter of ojuani meyi.
She dominated him, leading him before Olofin, to which Olofin said: to iban Eshu.
And he restored him to his land, and every time he needed him he had to go to ojuani meyi so that she would bring him.
The goat, the lion, and the tiger
Owunko had a plot of land and built on it, and in that place kenku was the Oba.
All the animals would go into kenku's house, even owunko himself.
One day owunko went to claim his position and all the animals turned against him and agreed to kill him in a meeting.
Owunko, when he realized that they were all arayes, went to consult and had Ebbo done.
After the Ebbo was done, he was told to go to the meeting that they were going to hold with an igba of etu meat and food, and that he should give nothing more than to ekun, who was his friend and would defend him.
When owunko arrived at the meeting, he moved up next to ekun, and when ekun saw the igba, he asked what it was that he was eating: owunko told him what it was and added: taste it if you want.
Ekun tasted it and told owunko that if he cooked more of that meat for him, he would save him.
Owunko said yes, and ekun went moving up next to kenku, who asked him what was happening, and ekun answered that nothing was happening, that he moved up to his side to see and hear better, but in a moment of kenku's distraction he leapt on him and torn him to pieces.
When the other animals saw what ekun had done, they fled from there, and ekun handed the papers to owunko, and then he demanded that he should cook him some of that meat, but owunko in turn demanded that he tell the other animals that they should no longer bother him.
Ekun made this known to the telling the rest of the animals: here I am in charge and beware of bothering owunko.
These obeyed and left those places.
