Stories and patakíes
He who does it pays for it
The king of a town was bad and he understood that his situation was becoming more and more adverse, so he went to where an awo was and this one told him that all of his things were fine, because the awo had seen this sign where all the owners of slaves knew that with time they would pay for the evil that up to that moment they had done.
When elegua, in union with Osanyin, betrayed Shango
In this path Shango was a king who had a palace in the land takua and among his fellow citizens were Oshosi, abata, Oshun, ogba, Obatala and the jimaguas, but elegua did not live in Shango's palace.
Shango did not employ elegua in his palace nor did he invite him to the parties he gave every day and he kept him starving because he did not look after him.
Elegua joined Osanyin to do Shango harm; Osanyin prepared the powders and gave them to elegua so that he could blow them at the door of the palace, so each time there was a party a tragedy would break out.
Shango went crazy at the thought of the unrest that there was in the palace, but he did not calculate what was really happening.
When Shango went out into the street and met elegua, he showed him that his friendship was sincere, in such a way that he could not think that he was the one who was causing him those disappointments he was going through.
Wherever elegua encountered anyone who knew Shango, when this person turned his back, elegua would blow the powders that Osanyin had prepared at him.
When that person arrived at Shango's house, the great revolution would break out, so Shango had great tragedies in his house until one by one they went away from the house and left him alone.
He was desperate at seeing himself alone and sick inside his palace, no one visited him anymore, and there were no more parties in his house, he had no income.
On the day of his saint's day Shango went out to see Olofin; on the way he met elegua who, when he saw him, greeted him and Shango told him what was happening to him and where he was headed at that moment.
Elegua told Shango that Olofin was not at his house at those moments because he had had to go out, but that as soon as he came back, he should go see him and tell him his problem and what was happening to him.
I was going to call your guests' attention, but I was afraid that you would go and tell them, who were your close friends.
To me they held me to be so bad that it is not out of place for me to tell you about the things that I have learned even from your own family.
Olofin told me that you are bad and that on your saint's day you were going to see him and that is why he left today.
Shango left the side of elegua with a severe headache, desperate, he was ill for several days.
While Shango was sick, elegua let the animals loose in the garden so they would eat the flowers and he poured hot water on the fruit trees and on the plants that could be eaten, so in that way elegua left Shango with nothing.
