The three forces
There were three young brothers, two males and one female, who were heading one day on the way to the town of one of their closest relatives whom they were going to visit, and it happened that, while the elder brother was tired, he saw a rabbit climbing up the trunk of a tree, which disappeared through a hole that was in it, he took a stone of regular size and threw it at the tree with such accuracy that he closed with it the hole through which the rabbit had escaped, then the second of the brothers took another stone and threw it against said tree with such force that it toppled it, thus being able to take possession of the rabbit, which had died as a result of the blow.
They gave the animal to their sister and continued on their way, without rest they walked until they reached a crossroads where they decided to regain their strength, but greater was the brothers' surprise when the sister said to them, let's sit here and let's eat the rabbit that I already have cooked and their brothers were surprised at how their sister had been able to do that prodigy if she had not stopped along the way, or lighted a fire, or found water, nor had they even brought salt.
But in the face of the evidence of the perfectly seasoned animal that their sister presented to them, without intending to find out the mystery, they sat down to eat and ate, but once the feast ended the elder of the brothers spoke in this way: I have done a great thing if it had not been for my sight that saw the rabbit and my aim that closed the hole, today we would not have eaten.
No, brother, said the middle one, this feast is due to my strength that broke the tree and the stone allowed us to seize the rabbit, but the sister replied to both of them neither your eyesight nor your aim were enough, as neither was strength enough for us to have been able now to satisfy our hunger with the rabbit, if I had not devised ways to cook without fire, without water and without salt.
But those brothers who had shown themselves to be intelligent in obtaining their food were arguing and were still doing so to decipher which of them carried out the action of greatest value.
Obatala's war with the rabbit (samba)
In this path in mose Inle the king of that land was called ekundere (Obatala) in it his children were shepherds.
In those times samba, the rabbit, his wife and his children were carnivores but they lacked the courage to steal the cows from Obatala's children, then samba went to see Orunmila and he marked Ebbo with osiadie feathers, cowhide, to move among them, when they evacuated samba entered through the oriolo and took out the meat he liked best except the liver, heart and intestines.
Thus samba carried it out every day taking the eran malu to his family.
One day suruku the jackal watched samba, for he wished to know how he obtained his food, and upon seeing samba carry out his operation, which consisted of entering from behind into the interior of the malu, he put his head inside the oriolo but could not reach, then the jackal bit the liver to eat it but the malu shouted loudly and suruku ran out frightened with adofa in his mouth and then the malu fell dead closing the oriolo and samba was left trapped inside, but it turned out that the malu was the favorite of okundere and when he was informed of what had happened he took up his weapons and went to the field where he saw his dead malu there, then he asked among the shepherds who had done it and they did not know what to do and Obatala raised the saber to cut off everyone's heads and suddenly one of them said; why don't you open the belly of the malu to see who could have been or what could have happened to the malu.
Ekundere did so and to everyone's surprise samba was inside tangled in the intestines, then okundele took the saber and grabbed samba by the ears and told him: scoundrel, you have killed my wife malu, you will pay with your head and with the saber he beheaded him drank his eye and ate it roasted and afterward he went to samba's house to exterminate his family but upon seeing the small children he took pity on them and forgave them, sentencing them to live on herbs and roots and Obatala to save his children eats rabbit.
