The king's crown

There was a very proud king and in his kingdom there existed a great discontent, in view of that the king had a diviner read him because he feared an ambush and that they would depose him.

The diviner saw him and this sign came out for him and told him that he had to share the most valuable garment he had, that is, with his crown that had a great coral, the king refused and did not want to believe that he was on the verge of losing his crown.

Seven days later there was great uproar in the kingdom and the king, very nervous and impatient, got scared and went to hide in the forest where his clothes were torn to pieces.

Already hungry, he saw a yam seller passing by that place, who was Elegba in disguise, and after many pleas he traded his crown for a few yams.

Elegba returned to the town with much noise, showing everyone the king's crown and telling of the state of misery in which the sovereign found himself.

The people, feeling the king's absence, determined to go looking for him everywhere, they found him and took him back to his throne.

Orishaoko and mother nature

On a certain occasion orishaoko had under his command a large number of men, trying to make the earth produce, but it produced nothing, then orishaoko, tired of seeing that the earth did not produce, leaned back on a stone and started to think about how to solve the problem, and in the moments when he was meditating a small worm appeared to him and said: what are you thinking about?

And orishaoko answered, trying to solve this situation.

And the worm asked him again, what is the situation?

And orishaoko answered him: the earth that does not produce.

Then the worm answered him, I am going to help you, to which orishaoko answered him, you are going to help me?, But what do you have, who are you, and the worm answered, I am mother earth, mother nature, and orishaoko answered him saying, show it to me by making the earth produce, then the worm said: that is not a request, since I come to help you, but that is not the way to ask for things.

Then orishaoko changed his way of asking, saying, well I want you to help me.

To which the worm responded happily, now that is a request and added: I am going to help you and I am going to grant you three things, ask for the first one and then orishaoko said to him: I want you to send me water; and at that moment a torrential rain began, but the earth still produced nothing, then orishaoko said, look, it does not produce because the plants rot from the cold, wonderful worm grant me heat so that the plants produce.

At that moment it became so hot that it scorched and burned the plants, and the earth still did not produce.

Then orishaoko said: well, mother nature, you have given me water and heat, but the earth produces nothing and everything dies, grant me the third request, send me air to cool the earth a little.

At that moment great air currents, like great waves of wind, invaded the earth and a warm temperature reigned; the plants began to grow without difficulty and at once the splendor of nature became evident, and all animal life cheered the environment, thus breaking the barrier of silence and life took form in all its shapes.

The little worm said to orishaoko, these are a set of elements, water, earth, fire, and air, for all of them are united in me, and it went away.
